MIZORAM, TRIPURA, MANIPUR, NAGALAND

Tour Description

DAY 1 :            AIZAWL (Mizoram)

Arrive AIZAWL airport.

Transfer to your hotel and check-in. 

Aizawl – is capital of Mizoram, it is a religious & cultural centre of Mizos. This town has exotic natural beauty and is famous for the handicrafts.  This is also an ideal hill station for tourists looking for solitude.

Overnight in Aizawl


Day 2 :             AIZAWL 

Breakfast at hotel.

Later leave on sightseeing to visit - the State museum to see the collection of historical relics, ancient costumes and traditional implements (Monday - Friday from 9:00 A.M to 5 PM. Saturday 9 AM to 1 PM), Bara Bazar - which the main shopping area with stalls/shops selling garments and other commodities.   Falkawn Village – located around 18 kms from Aizwal shows the culture & lifestyle of Mizoram village .

Overnight in Aizawl. 


Day 3:              AIZAWL – SILCHAR (Assam) (170 kms/ approx. 6 hrs) 

Breakfast at hotel.

Later we leave for Silchar - which is a transit point for entering Agartala. There isn’t much to explore Silchar but, you can still walk down the local streets and enjoy local cuisines.

On arrival check at Hotel. 

Overnight in Silchar. 


Day 4 :             SILCHAR – AGARTALA  (Tripura)    (290 kms / approx. 9 hrs) 

After early breakfast drive to Agartala.

Arrive Agartala and transfer to hotel.   Rest of the day at leisure

Overnight in Agartala. 


 

Day 5 :             AGARTALA 

After breakfast at hotel we leave on tour of Agartala to visit Ujjayanta Palace, Sepahijala Wildlife sanctuary and Neer Mahal – around 55 kms from Agartala ,  situated in the middle of a lake named Rudrasagar.

Evening at leisure.

Overnight stay at Agartala


Day 6 :             AGARTALA – fly – IMPHAL  (Manipur) 

After breakfast transfer to Agartala airport. 

Fly to Imphal. On arrival at Imphal, transfer to hotel and check.

Noon visit Kangla fort and Ima Market.

Overnight in Imphal. 


Day 7 :             IMPHAL

After breakfast, leave on Full day sightseeing of Imphal to visit – Govindajee Temple, Loktak lake(largest fresh water lake in north east), INA Memorial(Indian tri colour was first hoisted here by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army), Japanese War Memorial and  Sadu Chiru water falls

Overnight  in Imphal.

 
Day 8 :             IMPHAL – KOHIMA  (Nagaland)        (140kms/5 Kms)

After breakfast drive to Kohima.

Enroute visit the Naga Heritage village (also known as Kisama Heritage Village) - village offers breathtaking views of lustrous green hill surrounding the village.  See the traditional houses with thatched roofs, wooden walls with carvings of all the major tribes from Nagaland. The biggest festival of NorthEast – Hornbill Festival is celebrated here

On arrival at Kohima, check in at Hotel.

After lunch visit world war II cemetery - This place is famous for the Kohima Epitaph, which reads :-     "When you go home tell them of us and say for your tomorrow we gave our today"

Overnight in Kohima.

 

Day 9 :             KOHIMA – KHONOMA – KOHIMA  

Breakfast at hotel.

Later leave on excursion to Khonoma Village - Khonoma is an Angami Naga village located about 20 km west from the state capital, Kohima. The village is referred to as Khwuno-ra. The total population of the village is about 1943, settled in 424 households. It is the first green village in India.

Later tour of Kohima to visit : Nagaland State Museum - for the artefacts of the local people and an idea about their history and culture.     

Overnight in Kohima. 


Day 10 :           KOHIMA – IMPHAL airport Drop

After breakfast transfer to Imphal.

Dropping at Imphal airport or Dimapur airport.
