Tour Description

Day 01             Cochin – Munnar      (160 kms – 04 hrs)

Meet on arrival at Cochin airport / railway station. Drive to Munnar.    On reaching Munnar, transfer to hotel

Munnar - one of the most popular hill stations in southern India known for its sprawling tea gardens. Arrive & check in hotel. Evening go for a stroll in tea gardens near your hotel.

Day 02             Munnar          City tour

Breakfast at hotel.   Later leave on tour to visit the picturesque Mattupettu Dam, where you have an opportunity to go boating, you continue your tour to Echo Point. Also visit Top Station, Eravikulam Park, Anamudi etc.

Day03             Munnar – Thekkady            (110 kms – 04 hrs)     

Breakfast at hotel   Leave by road for Thekkady.   On reaching Thekkady,  transfer to hotel.

Day 04             Thekkady - Spice plantation tour, Elephant safari, Kalaripayattu show

Breakfast hotel.   At around 1000 hrs go on Elephant safari.

On return leave on Later leave to visit the Spice TourSpice tour that takes you closer to the majestic nature in this area. Visit the cardamom-curing centre to get the feel of spice industry based here.

Apart from cardamom, Spices grown here include vanilla, black pepper, cloves, nutmeg and mace;   surrounded by coconut palms, bananas and jackfrut to see cardamom .

Evening visit Kalaripayattu Show. Kalaripayattu-the oldest of martial arts-is a gift to the modern world and known as the mother of all martial arts. legend traces the 3000-year old art form to sage Parasurama-the master of all martial art forms and credited to be the re-claimer of  Kerala from the arabian sea. Kalaripayattu originated in ancient south India. Kung-fu, popularized by the monks of the shaoline temple traces its ancestry to Bodhi Dharma-an Indian Buddhist monk and Kalaripayattu master

Day 05             Thekkady – Kumarakom

After breakfast at hotel, leave by road for Kumarakom (130 kms – 3 hrs).

On reaching Kumarakom,   transfer to hotel.

Kumarakom is a popular tourism destination located near the city of Kottayam, in Kerala, famous for its backwater tourism. It is set in the backdrop of the Vembanad Lake  which is the largest freshwater lake in the state.

Day 06             Kumarakom – houseboat

Transfer to jetty to board the houseboat.

Cruise along the backwaters to Alleppey. The cruise takes you through backwaters and paddy fields. Reach R-block, a 3000 acres Island in the Vembanad lake which is lower than the sea. See Pathiramanal Island. Legends say that this Island emerged from the lake

Day 07             Alleppey – Cochin

0900 hrs - Disembark at Alleppey

Leave for Cochin

On reaching leave on half day city tour of Cochin to Visit the St. Francis Church, India's oldest European Church was contructed in 1503 by Portuguese; Chinese Fishing Nets, strung out along the top of Fort Cochin; Mattancherry Palace or The Dutch Palace, built by Portugese in 1557, this palace was presented to the Raja of Cochin, Veera Kerala Verma. The palace's alternative name, the Dutch Palace, resulted from substantial renovations by the Dutch after 1663Palace.

Day 08             Cochin – Kozhikode (Calicut)                 

After breakfast,  leave by road for Kozhikode

On reaching, transfer to hotel.

Noon leave on local sight seeing of Calicut – the traditional capital of Northen Kerala under the Samuthiri rule.  Attractions in this legendy city includes Calicut Becah,  Thali Temple,   Kappad Beach,  Pazhassiraja Museum, Beypore beach.

Day 09             Kozhikode (Calicut) - Waynad

After breakfast leave by road for Vythiri.  (60 kms – 02 hrs)

VYTHIRI - is a resort town that is nestled in the deep interior of Wayanad’s forests and valleys. This region is located in the Indian state of Kerala. Ideal for the ones who are adventurous at heart, Vythiri is a classic blend of the natural and the new. Tourists throng to the town of Vythiri throughout the year to see the dense green cover and to explore its surroundings.

Day 10             Vythiri

After breakfast at hotel

Later leave to visit Pookot Lake (this perennial fresh water lake nestled among wooded hills is the only one of its kind in Kerala- Boating facilities and a fresh water aquarium are among the tourist facilities) (optional), and then Kuruva island (With 950 Acres of ever green forest lies on one of the tributaries of the Kabani and is home to various species of rare birds, orchids and herbs.), Pazhassi Raja’s Tomb.

Phantom Rock, Edakkal caves (trekking to a fascinating Neolithic cave site), Meenmutty waterfalls, Ambalavayal Heritage Museum. Evening back to your resort

Overnight:  in Vythiri

 

Day 11             Vythiri – Calicut

After Breakfast leave by road for Calicut.  (60 kms – 02 hrs)

Arrive Calicut and transfer to airport / railway station
